Sneak Peek! Erin Hiemstra's Guest Room Makeover
Over the last few months our talented head of design, Ashley Redmond, was paired up with the super stylish lifestyle blogger and creator of Apartment 34, Erin Hiemstra, to design her guest room. With the holidays around the corner and visitors abound, Erin knew it was high time to get her home ready for guests.
Erin had just completed an extensive remodel of her beautiful, historic San Francisco Victorian and was in much need of interior design help. With a toddler and a busy career writing her blog, Erin needed design help that was fast and easy. Erin was looking for a sophisticated Parisian-inspired guest room with modern, minimalist elements and a deconstructed look. She didn't want it to be too feminine or too masculine. It needed to double as a functional home office as well. With so many great design projects under our belt, Erin was eager to give Decorist a try.
Below you will get a sneak peek of our recent design project, plus an interview with Erin about the project in Architectural Digest and in a week—the final reveal here on our blog.
As Erin explained to Ashley in her questionnaire, her guest room and future work space needed a total redo making it the perfect canvas for a Decorist design. Here are the before photos of the room pre-renovation.
Erin wanted that modern, deconstructed look with an ultimate goal of creating a respite for her future guests—and an inspiring, clean space for her to work and be creative. Here is Erin's inspiration pulled from her own Pinterest boards.
Having studied Erin's inpsiration and having lots of communication with Erin online, Ashley's final design nailed Erin's style to a T. Erin's feelings about her design boards? In her words, "I LOVE my design and the layout is perfect. I'm super excitement to see our guest room come to life!"
Stay tuned for the "real" reveal in a couple weeks on our blog + Apartment 34. And, fear not, we'll be sure to share the shopping list with all the great furniture and accessories as well. Happy Decorating!
