Design Showhouse Round Up Featuring 7 Amazing Decorist Designers

POSTED BY DECORIST EDITORIAL TEAM
DECEMBER 27, 2015

What do our talented designers do when they aren’t busy designing for their clients? More designing, it turns out!

Several Decorist designers created winning looks in design showhouses on both coasts. First was the San Francisco Decorator Showcase, one of the premier show house events on the West Coast. This event was the setting for two of our Celebrity designers, Will Wick and Tineke Triggs, and two of our Elite designers, Evars + Anderson and Nest Design Co., who were each selected amongst hundreds of designers to design rooms in a grand-style mansion in one of the most breathtaking neighborhoods in San Francisco.

Just an hour north of the San Francisco Bay, another one of our highly sought after Decorist Elite designers, Elena Calabrese, was chosen to design the show-stopping dining room for the 3rd Annual Napa Valley Showhouse sponsored by Traditional Home.  Flip to the East Coast, where Decorist Celebrity designer Christina Murphy wowed the crowds by designing—100% virtually—the library at the Connecticut Designer Showhouse on the Green located in Fairfield County sponsored by Cottages & Gardens magazine.

Decorist also unveiled the first Decorist Virtual Design Showhouse that transformed 20 rooms through online interior design. Each room was filled with incredible and affordable items from wide range of retailers.

We’ve rounded up the best of the best so take a peek and feast your eyes on these show house gems. We could not be more proud to have these designers on board and part of our team who are designing rooms for YOU—within your style and budget—delivered right to your inbox and then to your doorstep.

Will Wick, San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Celebrity Designer: Will Wick of Wick Designs

The Space: The Master Bedroom

The Vibe: Will Wick—in his 5th appearance in the SF Decorator Showcase—transformed the Master Bedroom by using rich, earthy moss green walls, light cream-colored carpeting and draperies and layered in different textures and materials. He masterfully blended modern-styled furniture, which was custom-designed by Wick himself, with gorgeous vintage pieces, creative lighting while mixing in a variety of metallic accents for added drama. Overall, Will balanced the more masculine feeling of the space by incorporating soft pops of pale pink and creamy whites to give it a soft feminine twist.

Will Wick, Decorist Virtual Design Showhouse

Celebrity Designer: Will Wick of Wick Designs

The Space: The Foyer

The Process: Drawing inspiration from the homeowner's casual, modern eclectic style, Will created an entrance that felt calm, collected and fresh. He designed this entirely online without ever stepping into the home. The homeowner's simply uploaded some photos of the space and sent along the measurements. With that Will transformed the space using the Decorist design platform providing the homeowner's with a final design, floor plan, how-to-instructions and a shopping list.

Will Wicks Interior Design

The Vibe: As the point of entry in the house, Will kept the family's style in mind. Using online interior design Will was able to work with the family and get their feedback right away. He selected a sleek black table with brass legs giving the room a modern touch but, dressed it up with decorative pieces like the saber tooth tiger skull that tied in the family's eclectic flare. He even included their passion for photography to bring character to the space.

Tineke Triggs, San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Celebrity Designer: Tineke Triggs of Artistic Designs for Living

The Space: Master Bathroom aka En Vogue Salon

The Vibe: Tineke Triggs design inspiration for the En Vogue Salon was the July 1966 cover of Vogue magazine. She recreated a space in a sexy, fashion-forward spirit that pulled patterns and textures that were often utilized during this iconic era. The focal point was the oval freestanding bathtub that sat upon the custom tile flooring designed by Tineke.  Also it was hard not to miss the incredible black and white photograph by Danielle Mourning surrounded by the beautiful ombre drapery. Bringing awareness to the ceiling, your eye was drawn up to the brass and steel chandelier that almost appeared to act like a crown for what surely was a glamorous occupant.

Evars + Anderson, San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Elite Designer: Nancy Evars and Dimitra Anderson of Evars + Anderson Interior Design

The Space:  The Laundry Room + The Gentlemen’s Bathroom

The Vibe: Eager to make a small Laundry Room both functional and fabulous, Evars + Anderson selected Christian Lacroix’s vibrant, 3D-like Butterfly Parade wallpaper as their inspiration, transforming the room into a bold statement space. Industrial-inspired accessories such as a sconce and the faucet served as strong, masculine touches that balanced the warm, feminine wallpaper. The designers also created custom drying racks cleverly concealed above the washer and dryer and custom designed lattice patterned cabinets to add a vintage feel to what is today's modern laundry room.

The Vibe: For the Gentleman’s Bathroom, Evars + Anderson created an elegant, private space for the man of the house. The designers selected sleek, masculine palette of black and white, choosing a shower with a black metal and glass door, black and white mosaic tile floor and a metal and wood vanity topped with polished black marble. The bathroom’s sconces, mirror, fixtures, and faucets were a rustic aged brass. A vintage crystal bead pendant softened the industrial bathroom with a delicate, feminine touch.

Nest Design Co., San Francisco Decorator Showcase

Elite Decorist Designer: Jennifer Wundrow and Heather Brock of Nest Design Co, Inc.

The Space: The Bathroom

The Look: A vibrant kiss-themed Bathroom appropriately coined "Lip Service" was both playful and sophisticated. With its luxurious materials and exquisite pieces, the bathroom had a sumptuous, feminine feel. Inspired by space’s intimate nature, Nest Design Co. selected a daring hand-painted lip print wallpaper by Voutsa to serve as the basis for their design. The design was a fresh take on a bathroom inspired by the strong, sexy woman that lies beneath the lipstick.

Tamara Honey, Decorist Virtual Design Showhouse

Celebrity Designer: Tamara Honey of House of Honey

The Space: Living Room

The Process: Tamara used the Decorist platform to transform the living room space. She curated affordable pieces from a wide variety of retailers. Tamara did not see the living room in person during the design process. She was provided photos of the space and room dimensions. Working with the Decorist design platform she was able to stay in contact with the couple ensuring that the design fit the family's style. All possible through online interior design.

The Space: The Library

The Process: We were so proud to have Christina be the  first and only online interior designer for the Designer Showhouse On The Green located in Fairfield, CT with CTC&G (Connecticut Cottages & Gardens).
