7 Décor Ideas to Steal from Jessica Alba’s Office for The Honest Company
If Jessica Alba isn’t already on your design radar, she will be. The actress turned businesswoman of The Honest Company recently revealed in Architectural Digest her jaw-droppingly gorgeous office in Playa Vista, California—and the results are sure to give you a major case of design envy.
The office space was designed by the uber talented celeb designers Mat Sanders and Brandon Quattrone of Consort. The large office space houses 450-plus employees, equipped with stylish work spaces and showrooms to inspire creativity, yet still retains a comfy at-home vibe. Fusing Alba’s cool and laid back spirit with modern and crisp style, it’s safe to say Consort totally nailed this one.
So whether you're designing your home or a gorgeous new office space, there are some basic design principles to keep in mind to make it feel chic and luxurious. Step into The Honest Company office and snag décor ideas to give your own home the magazine-worthy look too.
After designing Alba’s family home in Beverly Hills, Consort wanted to bring that same laid-back style to the company office. The new office space has an industrial farmhouse mix. It features vintage pieces wherever possible. Vintage furniture, rugs, fabrics and decorative items help create a cozy look that feels warm and welcoming.
2. Clean Lines
Furnishings in clean lines, including box shelving, straight-line counters and minimalist pendant lighting, bring an instantly refreshing and modern aesthetic to the space.
3. Natural Materials
With super clean design, there’s a chance your interior might feel cold and sterile (obviously not what you want). Instead Consort used natural materials such as wood cabinets, marble counters, ceramic planters and woven baskets to bring in that serene, organic vibe. Natural materials help bring character and a coziness to a space.
4. Black and White
The office headquarters includes a showroom with an adorable baby nursery. A sophisicated neutral palette of black and white contrasts throughout the office including the nursery plus the use of natural materials and textures give the space a bold and instantly pulled-together look.
5. Open Shelving
Open shelves are a great solution for small and large spaces alike and can make it feel airy in any kitchen or office. Mix up and curate the décor items that go on the shelves—it’s best to have a variety on display to give your space that effortless yet perfectly put-together look.
6. Plant Life
Consort wanted to bring the outdoors in with an indoor-outdoor space, designed with a gorgeous living wall. With clean and modern style, it’s even more important to bring life into your space. Bring the outdoors in with florals and plants. Add a few planters and a floral arrangement, and you’re guaranteed to feel instantly connected to nature.
7. Pop of Pattern
To keep a neutral space from feeling too monochromatic, Consort added pops of pattern with interesting throws and textures. Here African sarong patterned pillows were specially made for The Honest Company’s lounge area. These hints of pattern, help to give the lounge a relaxed, comfortable vibe.
