It won’t be long now before we start making plans for 2017. It may seem a long way away at this point, but it’s not – in a few weeks we’ll be launching ourselves into the holiday season. If you’re already making some plans for next year, perhaps you’re also wondering if you should redecorate certain rooms in your home. If so, you’re most likely slightly overwhelmed with different ideas and all the information out there. We've gone through all the biggest interior design trend predictions for next year and we've condensed it into an easy-to-follow list. If you missed our first 5 Interior Design Trends post, here it is.
1. Terracotta Tiles
Terracotta tiles add a rustic and warm look to any room in which they are included. They are also versatile, as terracotta tiles can be used for floors, walls and a fireplace. If you choose to include terracotta tiles in your new look, you’ll be incorporating one of the biggest interior decorating trends for 2017.
2. Space Optimization
Living spaces are getting smaller overall, but that doesn’t and shouldn't impact your style or functionality for the space. This shrinking of homes is prompting innovation. One of those innovations is optimizing space. That basically means that people are using every inch of living space and putting pieces there that accomplish more tasks than one.
3. Retro and Vintage Furniture
The past is present, at least according to almost any list of interior decorating trends for 2017. Retro and vintage furniture is coming around once again. Plus, retro style furniture is getting a bit smaller so that it can fit comfortably in more living spaces. A touch of modernity in a retro look.
4. Handmade Products and Items
Everyone is looking to do something unique – that’s one of the overriding themes when it comes to interior design trends for 2017. So how can someone achieve this goal if they are adding furniture and décor that is produced on a massive scale? That’s why handmade products are becoming more popular. Every piece that’s made by hand is by nature unique. That’s one of the reasons that people purchase handmade goods.
5. Natural Textures
Returning to an organic, welcoming and warm environment in the home is something that seems to be happening all over the world. One of the ways to do that is by incorporating natural textures into a space. Natural wood, wool and cork are all showing up in homes and in different rooms.
